Looking for advice as to whether to take a taxi or metro when my husband and I arrive around 2:30 in the afternoon to Sants station with 25" suitcase each to get to Airbnb. Should we just take a taxi, is it regulated? Getting so many warnings about pickpockets in the city. Would like recommendations when traveling with the suitcases. Thank you.

With luggge just get a yellow and black taxi. They are relatively inexpensive. Barcelona is perhaps no worse than any other big city for pickpockets. Take all precautions, be aware of your surroundings, but not too paranoid.

Have done both taxi to cruise and metro to Eixample Dos Pau station non stop on #4 line. Big taxi stand outside Sants and metro station inside Sants. Both were easy. Depends where you are going in Eixample.
