I read in Rick’s book that tickets are available for trains 60-90 days out. I was browsing the Renfe website and it appears they have listings for trains through the end of April? Our plans are to take the train from Seville- Cordoba on April 25th. I did not go through the process of attempting to buy a ticket if it was to early.
That is in general not true, it varies a lot. Especially with Renfe. But I'd suggest booking with Iryo instead, www.iryo.eu . While there is nothing wrong with Renfe's trains, their website is not as user friendly as it could be.
I booked one trip on Renfe’s website, Cordoba to Madrid quite far in advance.
When I got to the train, and tried to find my seat, it didn’t exist. They had changed train types after I had booked so carriage 6 or whatever it was just didn’t exist. A Renfe employee considered kicking me off the train, but did me a favor and let me sit in an empty business class seat. So, probably smart not to book too far in advance.
I was on renfe website and didn't see any tickets for March/April for Toledo, Segovia or Avila. Is it too early or just sold out.
I cannot imagine trains are sold out 4 or 5 months in advance. The tickets must not have been put on sale yet.
Do you know that RENFE is not the only train line in Spain?
Lately we have found it very easy to buy tickets online for the IRYO fast trains. A private company unlike Renfe.
We have had wonderful service from them in the past year.
