I keep thinking that I read or heard that you should buy advance tickets to the Mezquita in 2023 since there are so many people traveling this year. We’ll be in Cordoba in early October. Should we go ahead and buy our tickets online now?

I didn't need to do that in October 2019, on a Saturday. There was a long ticket line but next to it were several ticket machines with no one waiting. The machine was easy enough to use and I went right in. But if you can buy advance tickets without committing yourselves to a specific time slot, you can save some time on the ground.

We went with a guide and she purchased our tickets. The place is such a large area I wouldn’t worry. There aren’t enough tourists in cordoba to even make a dent.

In May we purchased them online about an hour before we headed over there. Plenty of availability.
