A family of 5, Mom, Dad, 2 young boys and Grandma planning to hike the Caminito del Rey in August. Since it will be hot then, we are looking for hotel rooms or an apartment with a swimming pool in a somewhat close proximity to the hike. Any suggestions?

How are you getting around and what does “somewhat close” mean, 5km, 20km, 30km?
I’ll throw out Parador de Antequera. It’s 34km away and has a pool. Much closer is La Garganta Restaurante, Hotel y Turismo Activo. It is at, Barriada El Chorro, s/n, 29552 El Chorro, and has a pool. The hike is in a rural area so accommodations will vary significantly.

I am not answering your question but I hope this helps. Park at the bottom of the hike, bus to the top then do the hike. That way when your finished you can just get in your car and turn up the aircon and drive off. I was bursting hot the beginning of October but so worth it. August! Yikes Enjoy your trip J

I guess I should given more information. We are travelling from the Cartagena area by car and after two nights we will be moving on to Manilva.
We will arrive at the destination, late afternoon/early evening the day before the hike.
We know that it will be very hot during the hike, even though we will book the earliest start available.
We are assuming we will return to our hotel and hang out in the pool. So not too worried about being near other sights.
