My son and I will be trekking from the beginning of the French route of the Camino de Santiago west. Wondering about access to Spanish rail (renfe) at various points along the trail, particularly at Burgos or Leon.

There are stations at Burgos and Leon. You are aware of RENFE, go to their website www.renfe.com to find if there is a station, wherever.
http://www.adif.es/AdifWeb/estacionesMapa.jsp responsible for the stations should help equally.
I have no idea, without research, of the proximity or accessibility of the camino from stations. Is this not clear from whatever route map or guidance you will use?

The Camino passes right through town, so it is not a problem to get to the station in either Burgos or Leon.
