So I ll be in Barcelona this Juy and I will have to reach Prague. Since the train b/w Barcelna and Prague takes ~18 hours., I want to get off at some station around mid way and spend ~2days there. Please suggest what could be my midway destination..? Thanks

What route/trains are you taking? The route thru Paris requiring only 2 train changes (one a CNL) is 24:03. The quickest is 22:01 and has 5 train changes.
You could go from Barcelona to Paris - 6.5 hours the Paris to Mainz - a nice place outside of Frankfurt about 29 minutes on train arriving about 8:20 pm.
Then finish to Prague in about 6.5 hours when you are ready
Curious why not fly?

Perhaps fly to Munich, then travel overland to Prague via Cesky Krumlov.
