Hi, I'll be 22 years old, female, travelling to Europe August to October 2016. I've arranged a Contiki around Turkey and also around general Europe. I have set aside for my solo travel around Spain and have about 9 days. I'm not really a big shopper or drinker, but I love food, nature/sightseeing and exploring new places (I love authenticity too, away from the tourist eye!) I was just wondering what is recommended?! Please help, I am so overwhelmed with things to do and see!
A quick but easy trip ...
Barcelona (3 nts)
Ave train to Madrid (3 nts)
Ave train to Seville (3 nts) stopping in Cordoba for 4/5 hours to visit the Mezquita
or just Andalucia from Madrid ...
Madrid (3 nts)
Ave train to Seville (3 nts) stopping in Cordoba for 4/5 hours to visit the Mezquita
Train to Ronda (1nt)
Bus to Granada (2nts)
Chloe,
There are so many options!

Spain is a large country with different regions, each with their unique culture, traditions, & language.
Happy planning!
Hi Chloe!
Spain is a great place to explore. You might want to split your time between Barcelona and Madrid, or perhaps spend all 9 days in Andalucia, going from Sevilla to Cordoba and Granada back to Madrid to catch any connections.
A fair warning for any young female traveling solo to Spain (and maybe Turkey as well): expect some level of street harassment. It's usually benign but it's quite common and a loud "NO" is usually sufficient. Head for an open cafe or restaurant if it's not.
Train travel between cities is quite easy in Spain. Do you speak any Spanish? If not, I highly recommend spending this next year trying to learn what you can. Most people speak English but not as much as in other European countries and even rudimentary Spanish can be super helpful.
Thanks Emily, I really appreciate your advice! I'll definitely look into learning Spanish and those places you mentioned.
Thanks again! :)
