We have never been to Spain and we were planning to arrive in Barcelona 2 days before our tour begins. I would love to have recommendations on where to stay and what activities to do that the tour does not cover. Thanks!
My research showed staying in the area of the Plaza Catalunya was a central location in Barcelona.
Many say to avoid the Ramblas but I thought it might be good to be near but not on it.
Have a great time!
Thanks! I really wanted to see the beaches but wasn't sure where to stay, ect.
There are so many things to see, do and experience in Barcelona, that you could easily fill several days or more. This includes varied architectural sites, museums, churches, outdoor or sports experiences, food and beverage experiences, musical performances, and interesting neighborhoods plus towns outside of Barcelona, but nearby. It would be helpful to know of the particular interests of you and your travel group. There are various good areas to stay in, but I think one priority would be to choose lodging near a metro stop, it’s a big, spread-out city.
Seeing the beaches in Barcelona is easy—they begin within walking distance of the city center, and further sections are easily accessible by metro.
