We will be flying into Sevilla after spending a week in Portugal. Arrives approx. 3 pm. on Sat, July 1
We fly back home out of Malaga a week later, Fri, July 7
We are going to rent a car.
We would like to spend time in Sevilla and Ronda. We have already been to Granada, Toledo and Cordoba, so I think I want to concentrate on Sevilla and Ronda, and then finish up either in Nerja ( have also been there, but my husband hasn't, and it might be a nice relaxing day or so before returning to the US.)
What would be a nice number of days to experience Sevilla and Ronda?
Here's my initial thought:
3 nights in Sevilla (land in the afternoon, so we will have Sat evening, Sun and Mon)
1 or 2 nights in Ronda
Round it off depending on how long we stay in Ronda.
Flight leaves Malaga @10 am on Fri morning.
I appreciate all suggestions!
You have 6 nights and will need to stay in Malaga night before departure
3 Sevilla
2 Ronda
1 Malaga
Take the bus from Sevilla to Ronda then again to Malaga
Super easy and inexpensive
No need for a car
I didn't consider using the bus. I assume it's quick and easy, dealing with luggage, etc?
Honestly, the bus is totally fine if you are just visiting Ronda itself, but the real attraction of the area - to me at least - is the white villages : Grazalema, Zahara de la Sierra, Setenil, Ubrique...
For those, you absolutely need a car. Driving is hassle-free.
And, keeping the car, you can stay in Nerja with a flight out of Málaga. It is close by.
I agree with 3 nights Sevilla / 2 nights Ronda / 1 night Málaga or Nerja.
We enjoy driving, and that is why it was my initial plan. I researched the bus schedule, and frankly, I think I prefer the convenience of a car. I realize that parking is an issue in Ronda, but the hotel I plan on booking has paid parking nearby.
I don't think 3 nights is long enough for Seville since you're arriving in the afternoon. That's only going to give you a bit more than 2 days there, and to me Seville is at least a 3-full-days city. Ronda's attractive (I've been there multiple times and do like it), but there's just no comparison to the sights in Seville.
