6-7 nights in Andalucia region

We are arriving in MALAGA on Friday, April 26. Our itinerary is 2 nights Malaga, 2 nights Ronda, 2 -3 nights Seville. We need to be in Seville any nights except Sat or Sunday night. It seems like the most efficient way would be Malaga then bus/train to Ronda, then bus/train to Seville. We were also thinking of a day trip to Cordoba. The bus and train seems limited unless I am looking into it too early. Any thoughts on this itinerary would be appreciated. We have accommodation picked out for RONDA but not for Malaga or Seville. We want to be centrally located so we can walk most anywhere and then mtake a couple of day tours. Our budget is approximately 100 - 150 E per night. IF YOU have any recommendations on accommodation, we would appreciate that too.
Thank you so much!

I would stay in Malaga the first 2 nights as you originally planned. We spent 2 nights in Malaga and loved it. I think it's an under-rated city. The old city center is gorgeous with marble pedestrian walkways. We loved walking uphill through the Alcazaba with lots of greenery, flowers, patios, fountains, and spectacular views of the Mediterranean. There is also the castle ruins that is even higher than the Alcazaba, with more spectacular views. Malaga's cathedral is as nice and impressive as any we have seen. We visited the Picasso Museum, and there are many other small art museums. We enjoyed walking along the seaside promenade, and having drinks overlooking the harbor while watching the sunset.

In Malaga, we stayed at the Soho Malaga, which is very centrally located. We walked everywhere. Staying in Malaga for 2 nights will give you a wonderful coastal ambience, much different from Ronda and Seville.

I can't comment on Ronda as I have not been there. When I researched our trip to Madrid and Andalucia, I definitely got the impression that Ronda is a "lesser site". Would you consider spending 1 or 2 nights in Cordoba or Granada? These cities are more important historically with its Christian, Moorish, and Jewish history and architecture. Granada has the amazing Alhambra and Cordoba has the magnificent Mezquita.

I recommend at least 3 nights in Seville. We stayed in Apartamentos Suites Santa Cruz. We had a small apartment. Very centrally located in the Santa Cruz district. Within walking distance of Alcazar and the cathedral. We walked everywhere, such as to Plaza de Espagna and Triana. The apartments and main office were a little tricky to find because this is a pedestrian zone, so the cab dropped us off at Plaza de Alianza, and then we had to walk to Plaza Dona Elvira where the reception desk is located.

Hope this helps!

Alberta,

Are you planning to visit Granada?

It would be a shame to miss visiting the Alhambra, a World Heritage site, when you’ll be so close.

If you plan to go to Granada, make sure you book your Alhambra Tickets now.

I’ve not been to Málaga or Ronda (yet), but in Sevilla we stayed at Amadeus Hotel, and in Granada we stayed at Hotel Anacapri.

Enjoy your trip!

I agree that you shouldn't miss the Alhambra. I enjoyed Ronda for about four hours. It's very pretty, but it gets a lot of tourists. We enjoyed other white villages more. Zahara and Grazelema were my favorites. I also feel that Cordoba shouldn't be missed. If you have to do it via a day trip, at least that's something, but we stayed two nights and could have stayed longer. It is even more beautiful and very pretty when the day trippers leave. Cordoba's old Jewish quarter is stunning. Lots of flowers and patios. Cordoba is on a river and from the roman bridge you get nice views of the Mezquita.
