My husband and I have 3 days/3 nights to drive from San Sebastian to Barcelona in late June. We'd like to do some wine tasting and enjoy a leisurely and romantic few days before meeting up with our teenagers. Any route suggestions - towns/villages to visit, where to spend nights (Paradores?), wine tasting to reserve in advance, etc - would be greatly appreciated.
Day 1
Morning stop at Vitoria-Gasteiz, then to Laguardia in La Rioja wine growing region.

Day 2
Morning stop at Pamplona, then to Olite in Navarra.
Stay in the Parador located in the former Royal Palace of Navarra.

Day 3
Finally, on to Zaragoza, the capital of Aragon, where you have many hotel choices.
Thanks for the response David! I'll check into these places. We are thinking of spending two nights in Logrono as a base for exploring the area. Might there be a more picturesque or centralized location? Much obliged - Cyndi
I often enjoy the Guardian newspaper's food coverage, such as these articles (note the publication dates):

Sos del Rey Catolico might also be worth a stop.
Not far from Zaragoza (between San Sebastian and Barcelona) is Nuevalos which has a wonderful national park at the Monasterio de Piedra, where we stayed a night last August. The park has many beautiful waterfalls and hiking trails, which can be walked in maybe three hours. In addition, the park puts on an hour long birds of prey show with eagles and other large birds flying low overhead - fun and fascinating! The monastery and the park were among the most memorable parts of our three week stay in Spain.
