21 days Starting in Barcelona finishing in Porto

Looking for itinerary suggestions/help...Arrive off a transatlantic cruise on April 16th to Barcelona. (been here before and love it) figured we would spend 3 nights then take the train to

Valencia (been here for a day trip years back) stay for 3 nights then train to
Madrid for 4 nights (been here for a couple of nights in he past) and do a couple of day trips, then train to
Seville 4 nights taking some day trips
then hiring a car to drive us to Lisbon stoping Merida fpr 90min, Badajoz for 2 hrs, Evora for 2 1/2 hrs arriving Lisbon 730pm
Lisbon for 3 nights (Stayed here for 4 nights previously)
Coimbra 1 night
Porto 3 nights
how does it sound...too agressive....should any changes be made

Six transfers over 21 days is akin to spending three full days in travel (each transfer = 1/2 day travel). For the large area of geography being covered the trip is doable, just keep in mind Easter is April 21 so you need to book hotel reservations and be prepared for the impact of large crowds. April and May offers a plethoria of festivals. You might desire to investigate this opportunity to slow down your agenda and experience a deeper dive into the culture. I do appreciate you are returning to previously visited locations. On the day you travel by car be sure and protect your luggage by not parking the vehicle and then rummaging through your stuff. Doing so is a sure fire signal to thieves of the location of valuables. We encourage making wise choices for where you choose to park while hopping out for short walkabouts.

Picking up and dropping off cars in different countries incurs a large drop off fee. Or were thinking of hiring a driver to take you Seville to Lisbon?

yes hiring a driver- cheaper than renting a car also allows us to safely make stops along the way

I have not been to Evora or Badajoz. I don't know anything at all about Badajoz, but I believe Evora is worth considerably more time than you're giving it.

Merida is not one of Spain's great cities, but there are some Roman ruins, and I thought the archaeological museum was quite good.

I'd consider spending more time in fewer places as you make your way to Lisbon.

There used to be a bus from Badajoz to Lisbon, just FYI.

yes, thank you....we can eliminate anyone of those stops along the drive to lisbon- but it's my feeling since we are driving through get a brief look to see if its worth a trip back. I don't think its worth the extra cost and time to add any of these three towns to make an overnight stop.
