Opinions please. We are planning a 2 week stay in late April/early May.
On the list: Seville, Ronda (& surrounding area), Cordoba, Granada.
I want to see Valencia at some point (as a possible retirement place) but wonder if it is too far to consider on this trip?? We like to explore and not simply run from place to place. We'd also like to do some outdoor activities. Any place you suggest we definitely include? Thanks!
We will be spending 14 days in Andalucia in early March. We are staying 6 nights in Seville, 3 in Malaga, 3 in Cordoba and 2 in Granada.
From Seville we will visit Cadiz and Carmona as day trips.
From Malaga we are planning a day trip to Ronda. Also near Malaga we are planning to walk the Caminita del Ray.
We will have been in Valencia before coming to Andalucia. We are catching the train from Valencia to Cordoba - it's a 3hr 30min train trip.
With only two weeks I’d skip Valencia on this trip. You’d need parts of two days traveling to get there plus the time you’d spend there. That time would need to get taken from the other places. If you’re driving, Valencia is no less than a five hours drive from Granada. Near Ronda is Grazalema and there are outdoor walking trails in that area. You could also take a walk into the gorge in Ronda.
The Caminatao Del Rey is supposedly very pretty. It is extremely popular with tourists so you won’t be alone on the walk. You may also need to reserve a time slot to visit so check out its website. I agree with jaimeelsabio: Valencia is a slog from Granada, and two weeks is not a long time when you want to see the three major Andalusian cities plus Ronda and some of the white villages. If you had more time, we'd be recommending places like Malaga, Cadiz, Ubeda and Baeza.
