2-3 months in Southern Spain

I have only fleetingly visited northern Spain. I am now a 'slow' traveller in my retirement and investigating a house swap for up to 3 months in Southern Spain and taking trips every now and then from this base. I am quite bewildered by they choice of places I could put down temporary roots. My idea is to visit the immediate area by day , take a longer trip across to Northern Morocco and to perhaps take another longer trip up (or over) to Portugal. I would be reliant on public transport. I am wondering is Seville is too much of an obvious and immediate choice when another place could provide a relaxing and interesting base for me for 3 months. I am always grateful to the readers of this Q/A site who have given me such good ideas in advance so would like to thank the community in advance and look forward to some suggestions

Sevilla is the logical choice with its good transport connections. I would split my time however, starting with 2 weeks in Granada, and finishing with 2 weeks in Malaga.
