I posted a week or so ago about our trip. This is a September- Nov. 4 trip. My wife and I enjoy museums, cultural and historic sights. We haven’t been to Spain in 40 years, but have lived in Germany and Sweden. We will spend 16 nights in Spain before spending 12n in Portugal.
Madrid 4 nights. San Sebastián 2. Bilbao 3. Then 4-5 nights (Potes-2, Asturian or Galician coastal town, Santiago de Compestela 2 or 3n). Then Porto-Lisbon. Flight from Lisbon to Sevilla, likely to save on poor land options.
Andalusia thoughts: note we already have plane tickets out of BCN on 11/4 so need to end there.
Sevilla 4n with day trip to Cordoba. (This would allow us to fly to BCN via Granada)
Rent a car for a few days:
day trip to Jerez and sleep in Arcos.
Ronda 2n
thinking of spending 1/2 nights in a mountain village in Las Alpujarras ( Capileira? Trevelez?) en route to Granada. Granada 3 or 4n depending on mountain stay,
Flight to Barcelona 5n.
Any thoughts on staying in the mountains vs spending more time elsewhere? I like spending time in the mountains.
