I think that's far too much moving around.

You should save Portugal for another trip. It's really not as easy to travel between Portugal and Spain as many think.

That would give you 4 extra days to play with across 5 destinations (counting Madrid/Toledo as a single destination). I would probably give a day apiece to each destination except Cordoba.

I think the order of your trip would still make sense if you exclude Portugal.

So you would have...

  1. Barcelona/Montserrat (4 days)
  2. Granada (3 days)
  3. Cordoba (2 days)
  4. Sevilla (3 days)
  5. Madrid/Toledo (3 days)

One could argue that you only stay in Granada for 2 days and instead add an extra day to either Barcelona or Madrid.

Thank you for the reply. If that is so then i would heed your advice, but instead i would like to spend at another city instead, how do i include sierra nevada or any picturesque quaint town? Anywhere to reccomend along the route?

Thats sounds good. But not a night in cordoba? Why? how far is cordoba from seville?

Sevilla << >> Córdoba is approx 45mins by frequent high speed AVE train. An overnight stay is certainly worthwhile (with extra time), but for ease of logistics and to minimise your number of hotel changes, I would day trip from Sevilla.

I will do more read up on cordoba see if its worth a stay. If not i would heed your advise of basing in seville and do a day trip to cordoba.

As for all this place, which district should i stay in barca and madrid since its a big city, i prefer Air BNB.

Also 4 nights in barca and seville seems too much for me, shd i cut 1 day each and stay somewhere else? Anywhere to stay for nature landscape? Sierra Nevada? Any beautiful quaint village along the way for Nature beauty?

Lastly, i would like to see Spain on ground, flight will be the last option, how do i go to Granada from Barcelona? Would you reccomend train or bus?

I am not an art lover, i appreciate architecture though so not much of madrid i would want to see, i dont go art museums. Can i substitute it for something else?

I would recommend flying from Barcelona to Granada. There are no direct trains or buses that I am aware of. Your other option is to rent a car, but that would be longer and more expensive than simply flying.

As for other towns in more scenic settings, you could visit some of the White Hill Towns in Andalucia. Ronda and Arcos are easily accessible via public transit.

If you're looking more for hiking, there is Grazalema, a small town on the outskirts of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. You would have to rent a car to get there though.

I would say 4 nights in Barcelona is perfect, especially if you want to see Montserrat, which takes the better part of a day.

4 nights in Sevilla may sound like a lot, but you'll use one of those days getting to and from Cordoba, as well as exploring the Mezquita and the Juderia. Plus, there's a quite a bit to see in Sevilla.

Hi Nathanboley8,

Thank you for the advise. Indeed Ronda is very beautiful and i wanted to go there! Andalusia White Village too, sort of Santorini without a sea. How do i make way to Ronda, from Seville?

Seems like i have to fly to Granada from Barcelona. Urgh..flight again and border cobtrol again. :(

So my itinerary would be like this,

16 - Barcelona
17 - Montserrat/Barcelona
18 - Barcelona
19 - Earliest flight to Granada (I saw at 0730am)
20 - Granada
21 - Seville
22- Seville/Cordoba
23 - Seville/Ronda
24 - Seville
25 - Madrid
26 - Madrid/Segovia
27 - Madrid/Toledo
28 -
29 -
30 - 2230hrs flight back to Madrid-Singapore.

Anyone could help me with my itinerary?
