14 days mostly in Andalucia

We will fly into Madrid spend the night and get the train to Sevilla. After 3 or 4 nights rent a car? or train to Granada 2 or 3 nights?
We want to see the White Hill towns, visit the coast ...
When we return to Madrid I would like 2 full days to see what we didn't see this December and revisit a couple of great restaurants, before flying home. Travel days are added to the 14 days exploring.
Your suggestions for any part of this plan are welcome! towns, places, tours, restaurants, hotels, etc.

I wasn't particularly taken by the coast. I did spend time in Malaga once and enjoyed it, some good Roman ruins, some good small museums, and very pretty. I didn't get to the beach there. A car may be useful, depends on what you want to see and do. Other than that, the only place you will want or need a car is in the pueblos blancos.

If you land in the morning, why not go right to Sevilla, or Cordoba which is closer and well worth 2 nights? You should definitely plan to spend at least a day in Cordoba to see the Mezquita and the Juderia. It has more sights and more character than Malaga.

On my first trip I spent a few days in Jerez, daytripped to Cadiz by train and Arcos by bus. Then I rented a car for the pueblos blancos (based in Ronda for 3 nights), spent a night in Antequera (skippable) and dropped the car when I got to Granada. The main reason I stayed in Antequera was to visit the "pink lagoon" (Fuente de Piedra) and hike in El Torcal. You can also visit the prehistoric dolmens just outside the town.

I was less enamored of Granada that others are. 3 nights will give you plenty of time to see the sights, 2 is enough for the Alhambra, the Albaicin and the cathedral.

I've found this site to be a very good resource.
