14 Day Spain & Morocco in October -Please Help

Hi! I have now revised our itinerary based on budget as well and if you can please see and help reviewing and making suggestions. Have been in Spain before but that was many years ago:
October 5- Arrive in Barcelona in the afternoon from Toronto. We plan to stay near Boqueria Market.
October 6- Train to Girona-tour on our own go back to Barcelona in the evening
October 7-Tour Montserrat and Sagrada
October 8- In the morning go to Park Guell Leave for airport at 6pm for 9pm Flight to Marrakech with Vueling
Oct 9-13 Marrakech
October 14-Fly from Marrakech to Seville-arrive in Seville in the afternoon-Ryan Air direct flight
October 15- Go around Seville-overnight in Seville
Oct 16- Leave for Madrid by Train in the morning, Go around Madrid late afternoon
Oct 17- Day trip to Segovia/Avila?
Oct 18- Fly back to Toronto

I wanted to see if I could squeeze in Granada or Cordoba but I don't know how. I did look into flying out from Casablanca in Morocco but it was $400 more. Please let me know your suggestions. Thank you so much!

You could fly from Barcelona to Granada, stay two nights, then head toward Malaga (to take a Royal Air Morocco flight to Marrakech). If It were me (and we've done it), I would add more time in Spain, and allow three nights for Marrakech (unless you are planning desert treks for some of those nights) or have other plans. But, three nights there were plenty for us, max four, unless you are taking other excursions. We toured the medina, did an early morning hot air balloon ride, visited a Berber house, rode camels through a palm glade (which was actually great fun), took a great cooking class (also great fun), and had a guided tour of the city highlights.

The parador in Granada is a lovely place to stay (if you are eligible for senior discounts, be sure to check those out....great values), as it is right on the grounds (within the ancient walls) with the Alhambra. That means you can actually pop into your room to leave a jacket, freshen up, etc. while you are touring the buildings/grounds. To miss Granada while you are so close would be a shame.

I agree with the earlier poster that 5 days seems rather a lot for just Marrakech. On the other hand, I don't think 5 days is enough for Morocco, so I would spend all my time in Spain. (I note that this is not your first visit, though.) Dropping Morocco would allow time for Cordoba, Granada, and some extra time in Barcelona and/or Madrid.

With so little time in Barcelona are you sure you want to go to Montserrat? Be sure to check the weather, at least.

You also have virtually no time in Madrid.

To me, Avila is not one of the top three side-trips from Madrid. I would rank them:

1: Toledo
2 / 3: Segovia and Cuenca

Cuenca looks rather distant but can be reached in 55 minutes on the AVE to Cuenca-Fernando Zobel Station.

With 6 nights there, you can day trip from Marrakech or perhaps split the time with either a coastal or mountain destination. I see no benefit to flying from Casablanca, so it's good that the Marrakech airfare is the better rate.

Thank you for the responses. We are planning to do the 4 days 3 nights desert tour in Marrakech and still debating on going to Fez. I have not booked anything we are still in the very early stages of planning but definitely we will go to Marrakech as we have never been there before.
I will look into flying to Granada and maybe shorten Marrakech.
Is it easy to tour Seville on our own? I was planning to book near the cathedral? We also want to watch a flamenco show- where is the best place to do that?

As you acknowledge you don't have time for places on your wish list, like Cordoba and Granada. So with only 2 nights allocated for Sevilla I would look at leaving all of Andalusia for a future trip. Look at the flight with Ryanair from Fes to Madrid on Oct 14, and consider some other day trip options from Madrid.

Barcelona (3)
Marrakech (4)
Fes (2)
Madrid (4)

It's a pretty long trip from Marrakesh to Fes, but I liked Fes a lot.
