10 days in Jerez de la Frontera, Cadiz and Seville in October

Have been to Spain and Andalucia before but never to Jerez or Cadiz. Locals always said we had to visit Cadiz and so we are. The only problem is we leave for Spain 13 days after we return from 18 days in Sicily in Sept. so I need to get moving!

We will fly in and out of Seville. 2 nights in Jerez at El Taller, 3 nights Cadiz at La Casa del Consul and an AIRbnb in Seville to do laundry.

I'd especially like any recs for Jerez and Cadiz-like things we need to book like sherry tastings etc. Also, which trains need advance reservations? Looking into a private driver from Seville airport to Jerez. Train from Jerez to Cadiz is short. Is that a local and no advance ticket needed? Train from Cadiz back to Seville is 1.5 hours. Is advance ticket needed?

Any faves appreciated, especially for dining. Thanks all

Jerez: It's a great city for restaurants; my current favorite is LA CARBONA. Gorgeous dining room; stellar service.

If you want a pure seafood meal in a plain dining room, you can try LA MAREA DE MARCOS. He's well known for seafood in Jerez, but don't expect fancy plating or many side dishes..it's pure product, a favorite of well-known Spanish chefs. Understand the custom in Spain of ordering seafood and fish by weight. I enjoyed my dinner there so much that I wrote a review on TripAdvisor, which I do rarely; I don't know if Marcos and his wife, Teresa, speak English, however.

Private driver from Sevilla to Jerez, I use Mario Dominguez Soto; price last month was 150 euro from Sevilla airport to my hotel in Jerez: 655-41-5000. What's app. I imagine he speaks enough English to make the plan; if not, just ask your hotel in Jerez to arrange a pickup with him; they probably know him. He will meet you in arrivals with a sign bearing your name. He's very professional.

Sherry bodegas, I like Lustau; their sherry vinegar is great, too.

In Cadiz I liked going to the bar at EL FARO (the bar, separate entrance from their restaurant) to have small plates...but you might have to stand unless you get there when they open..

The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art is a must-see. They put on performances and it is truly amazing. I do not ride and really do not have an interest in horses but this was well worth it. Tickets are sold in advance.

We did a sherry tasting at Sandeman and it was quite informative; I would recommend but did not go to any other tastings so cannot compare.

This was a day trip from Seville, so no dinner recommendations.
