My husband and I are taking our young adult children to Spain in December! 4 nights in Barcelona, 2 in Granada, and 4 in Sevilla (which is where we'll be for Christmas). Would love suggestions for must see/must do things! Sagrada Familia and Alhambra are on our list. Thank you so much!
Download Rick Steves app on your phone or buy his Spain guidebook: https://store.ricksteves.com/shop/p/spain-guidebook and take his self-guided walking tours. This way you’ll see it all.
Sounds like a fun family trip!
Definitely buy your Alhambra tickets in advance... they sell out. Maybe it's the same for La Sagrada Familia too... I've never been there.
Thank you! I've bought our Alhambra tickets and am trying to decide what time to buy our Sagrada Familia tickets for. I'd like to see the crypt there and am trying to figure out if that's included in the guided tour (I've read on some sites that it's only accessible at certain limited times).
Rick's top sightseeing suggestions for those three cities can be found on this very website, though I'd definitely urge you to get his guide to Spain.
At each of those links, click on At a Glance.
@acraven thank you for those links! I do have Rick's guide to Spain which is really helpful. It just doesn't have the level of detail I'd like on certain things. However after a quick look at the links, it looks like those will help!
The rooftop tour of the Seville Cathedral and churros with chocolate at Bar El Comercio were Seville highlights for us. And, the Mezquita is incredible so maybe a daytrip to Cordoba?
