Seville Apt on a Square

We are looking for an apt for 1 month. We would like to be in the historic district. We would like a place that has a bit of a balcony overlooking a square. We have to be within fairly close walking district to the sites. Any suggestions?

Just a general comment about apartments facing squares: I'd think they could be noisy. Squares are popular locations for restaurants and bars. Spain operates on an extremely late schedule, with locals heading out for dinner at 10 PM and going home between midnight and 1 AM. I would hope to be asleep then.

Personally, I favor cheap rooms facing airshafts, which usually get no street noise, but I realize they're not everyone's preference.

Good point about the noise level on squares. Years back I stayed at the Hotel Amadeus. Not sure if it was on a boba fife square but loved the vibe looking down on the streets

I stayed at Hotel Europa in Madrid overlooking the Puerta Del Sol.

Never again. Spaniards party late and loud and it was noisy late until the early morning. Unless you are used to living by Times Square you may want to reconsider.

I had no problem with my stay in the Hotel Europa. I was worried because the hotel is on the Puerta del Sol, which has people in it all night, and I'm a light sleeper. However, the windows and walls have acoustical insulation. I heard nothing and slept soundly.

Check with this company. We stayed at one of their apartments in the Maestranza area and found it very convenient to most locations in Central Sevilla, including a grocery and multiple restaurants.

You can click on "english" if it comes up in spanish.

I live on a busy (pedestrian zone) square in Logroño. A few thoughts of you trip...

You don't say which month you want to stay. The amount of activity and the duration of the merry making in terrazas and life in general can vary month by month. Never been to Seville in Holy Week, but I'm guessing there would activity pretty continuously.

I would assume that a good tourist apartment would have the noise reducing windows. They do work. If you are there in a hotter month and have AC, then you can close them at night.

Finally, if you were to stay for a month, I would think that after a few days you will start to enter into the rhythm of Spanish life. So your bedtimes would be more in sync.

Just an observation, but during the summer, I'd say 3 of 5 loud, rude, yelling people in the wee hours of the morning are English speakers.

In January 2020 we rented an apartment via this agency:

They have lots of pictures & lots of reviews. We were in the historic district but on the edge so it was less busy. We were not on a square - but they had a lot of good choices!

Hi hammondlmk,

We rented an apartment for most of December through this group. So far, the communication has been perfect -- quick, clear and efficient.

I will report back on the apartment in January. They have several on or near squares.

@calimom Would love to hear how your Seville stay is going! We will be there over New Year's and are seriously considering booking based on your reccomendation. Looks like they may have an apartment that works for us.
