I’m writing this at the Hotel Montelirio in Ronda where I was willing to splurge ($$$$) on a room with a view.
What a view! A small window/balcony from which I can see the entire Puente Nueva to my right, down into the gorge below and out to the mountains to the west on the left. I can even enjoy part of it without getting out of bed. And it’s all “ours” for two nights. It’s convenient to the bridge and everything else. We had dinner in its restaurant (another more moderate splurge) where we had more of the same view.
This just a bit at or beyond some of the RS “business class/splurge” hotel recommendations we’ve enjoyed this trip that also had great views (Gran Hotel Domine - Bilbao with the Guggenheim and Puppy; Hotel Europa - Madrid where we had a stunning third floor view of the Puerta del Sol). It’s “fancier” in ways most RS selections are not (with some suites that are bit much for my taste). Early booking deals can also keep the price down. But the base “view” room is perfect for those who want to go to sleep and wake up to some classic sights of Ronda and Andalucia while in their PJs.
