Review of Hotel Continental Barcelona

This hotel was recommended to me by others on this site. I am writing a brief review for those who are looking to book a hotel on Barcelona.

Hotel is a three star boutique. It is pretty. Staff is very nice and helpful. Good wi fi. Try for room with balcony.

Very good breakfast as well as good snacks 24/7.

Excellent location but it is on La Rambla.which might be a problem for some. La Rambla is crowded and chaotic.

I would recommend this hotel but have mixed feelings about La Rambla.

Thank you Nigel and Barbara

Tomorrow I am taking thr Spain Day Tour. Morning is now to Monserrat and then an excursion around Barcelona including a visit to Park Guell. I probably spelled the latter wrong.

We’re looking forward to your tour report. It sounds like you’re off to a good start. We weren’t fans of Las Ramblas either. If you haven’t already thought of this, there are wonderful views of Barcelona from the top floor of El Corte Ingles department store.

If you have time, go to the top of Montjuic for wonderful views of Barcelona.

bostonphil, I am happy that this hotel has worked out for you.
We avoid Las Ramblas but there are many other excellent areas nearby.
Enjoy your Spain Day tour tomorrow!

I've stayed there, and love it. If my comment was one that led you to this place, I'm glad.

Like everything, being on a main pedestrian street is a matter of preference. I wouldn't have it any other way. See the beating heart of the city, warts and all, right on your doorstep. And in this case, the location is just so perfect for exploring on foot as it is all within easy reach of the Barri Gotic, Barcelona Cathedral, Barceloneta, Boqueria Market, Placa Catalunya, Casa Mila and Casa Battlo.
