Pla de la Garsa is an amazing little place, practically unknown to visitors or even to many people from Barcelona, with authentic Catalan peasant food (for example rabbit, snails, mushrooms, duck, artisanal cheeses).
With an unusual range of wines, a gorgeous 19th Century interior with beautiful tiles and a wrought-iron spiral staircase, tucked away off carrer Princesa in the Medieval street of Assaonadors.
The building is 15th Century. Highly recommendable and original. It's been going as a restaurant for more than 30 years.
We enjoyed our meal highly and were treated in a most friendly manner despite a moderate language barrier - Catalan recommended, Spanish can cover it.
