We have 9 days in Andalucia. Planning for 3 nights Seville, 1 Cordoba, 1 Ubeda or Baeza, and 3 Granada. Is this doable? Trains only but 36 hours of car hire from Cordoba or Granada to Baeza and Ubeda. Please advise regarding hotels too. Thanks. We are going in January.
Update: Based on recommendations we decided to drop Ubeda and instead have two nights in Cordoba. So far we have El Rey Moro or Casa 1800 for Seville, NH Collection Palacio or Caireles (or eventually Mezquita) for Cordoba (though Mezquita has dodgy reviews), and choosing between Casa de Trinidad, Sercotel Gamboa or Room Mate Leo for Granada. Any advice is welcome.
We had a terrific stay at Hotel Amadeus in Seville, and would stay there again.
I don't know your ideal price range, but I've stayed at these in past few years and been very happy:
SEVILLA..PALACIO DON RAMON.
CORDOBA..HOSPES PALACIO DE BAILIO
Let me know if you want any recommendations for restaurants.
Thanks. Way above my budget! I am afraid I am still on a string budget...
In Granada I stayed at Hotel Puerta de las Granadas, and in Cordoba I stayed at Hotel Casa de la Azulejos. I would gladly stay at both again. I especially liked Hotel Casa d la Azulejos - the included breakfast was wonderful!
We stayed at the Amadeus in Sevilla, and liked it, but preferred the Fernando III, right around the corner from the Amadeus, with a much better breakfast, and a lot cheaper. https://www.hotelfernandoiii.es/en/
Thanks so much. Just wondering about Azulejos in Cordoba - did your room had a window and view? Thanks
I just got back from Granada and cannot say enough about the charming and central and affordable Posada Del Toro. I think it was 70 Euros per night including breakfast. I can attach photos or provide more info if you'd like.
wow, sounds great. yes please. For now we've decided 4 nights Seville, 2 Cordoba, and 3 Granada.
Sent you a DM
Sorry, Michelle..but I will give you a great, great restaurant with very reasonable prices, great food, and loads of Andalusia charm: TABERNA SAN MIGUEL, known as EL PISTO. You can make a reservation, which I recommend. It's a lively, bustling place filled with tiles, greenery, bullfight memorabilia....I'd say it's a do-not-miss in Cordoba. I ate there a couple of times during my stay in 2024.
I would do 2 nights in Cordoba and take a night from Granada. You will be very short time in Sevilla, one option might be to drop Ubeda?? In Cordoba look at Hotel Mezquita. You can almost touch the Mezquita from there. In Granada we really enjoyed our time at Hotel Anacapri. In Sevilla, perhaps, El Rey Moro, though I've heard its gotten more expensive.
Oops, didn't see the update. I think you will be happier with the four days in Sevilla.
Thanks so much to everyone. Yes, we decided to adjust the dates and take it a bit slower. Thanks. Just need to choose the hotels!
Seville- I stayed at the Hotel Maestranza but that was 10 years ago, It was clean comfortable and reasonably priced.
