Second trip to Barcelona at the end of September, and I have reservations at both hotels. I need to cancel one. Anyone with experience at either?

I stayed at Hotel Nouvel in 2022. It's in a great location! The room was a good size, with a rooftop patio (we were one floor up) on the back side of the hotel. The lobby is beautiful! Breakfast was available in the adjoining restaurant, ordered from a menu with several choices (and very reasonable prices). The restaurant also served hearty lunches. It was quiet at night. I would stay again.
It looks like the Contintntal is a more modern hotel. I would say that if you want a more traditional style go with Hotel Nouvel, otherwise choose the Continental.

I’ve stayed at the Hotel Continental 4 times. There are two the I stay at is in La Ramblas just a block from Placa de Catalunya. It’s an awesome location a nice funky hotel with a 24 hr free buffet that includes coffees beer soda. Have never seen this anywhere else. I think it’s a great deal for the location and cost. Less than a block to the Hard Rock Cafe if you care. The bus to the airport is right there in the Placa also

We stayed at both in June 2023. The Hotel Nouvel room was very warm and the service after when we asked for the 2nd night to be refunded( we checked out a day early) was ignored after I followed their requests.
We booked the Hotel Continental Barcelona for the last night of the trip since they were great and the rooms were comfortable. The AC worked great too.
