Locatio Location, Location- Barcelona

Going are going to be spending three days in Barcelona. We have received several hotel recommendations. If we are planning on hitting all of the major sights- what areas should we be looking for a hotel in..
Areas of Barcelona that are safe, reasonably priced, and centrally located to major sights.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Really should ask this kind of question in the "SPAIN" category. This one is for posting a "Review" of where one has been.

"reasonably priced"

Best to express what you find 'reasonable' in a numerical manner

as the previous poster suggested, move your question over to Q & A, the first column.

I use booking.com to research and book but you can just use it for research and then book directly.

When I was in Barcelona, I stayed at Hotel Continental Barcelona and was very satisfied. Would stay there again.

Someone on forum who is very well traveled recommended HCC Montblanc to me.

I stayed just south of the Placa de Catalunya in 2016 and found it a good base for walking to many of the most popular sights. However, Barcelona has an excellent public-transit system.

I wouldn't want to stay right on the crowded Ramblas, and there are some spots west of that avenue that seemed rough to me nine years ago. There have been more recent reports about issues in the Barri Gotic, I believe.

Barcelona is similar to Paris in that attractions are spread out. So, no matter what area of the city you stay in— you will be hopping on the metro to get around.

The EIXAMPLE District is where the most popular of Gaudi’s houses ( Casa Mila and Casa Battlo) are located along with the “Block of Discord.” It’s also a major transportation center with the underground “Passeig de Gracia”—-a junction station for several Metro lines and the RODALIES commuter train network that can get you to and from BCN Airport, the beach towns of Sitges and Blanes— and even Girona— all without having to go to the crowded and confusing Barcelona Sants train station.

Rick’s books recommended “BacHome Gallery B&B” and I enjoyed the 7-room property on an upper floor of a classical building just a few blocks from the Passeig de Gracia.
