Hi, we're heading to Spain in March and determined to seek out some awesome local dishes, especially jamon iberico in and around Seville. Some say you will find good ham everywhere, but I will be grateful if you can share any special spots. Gracias!
Check out Shawn Hennessey’s blog for ideas:
Mary, these are terrific, thanks! Have you done a tour with Azahar Sevilla?
No, I have not done a tour with the company. I learned about the company because Rick Steves took a tour with them and posted about it on social media a few months ago.
I've taken a tour with Shawn; excellent.
Almost every restaurant will have JaMon Iberico on their menu and, as a novice, you almost surely will not be able to distinguish between the various grades--100% ballots, red label, black label, etc.
These all are known for their Jamon selections:
CASA ROMAN. https://www.casaromansevilla.com
EL RELOJ DE ARFE...I think this is the. oldest grocery in the city, on Calle Arfe
KEYCHA. https://www.keycha.es. (They call themselves, "The Palace of Jamon!)
LA FLOR DE MI VINYA. https://www.facebook.com/p/La-Flor-De-Mi-Viña-Centro-100057145102521/
CASA ROBLES. https://casarobles.es/en/home/
Wow, thanks for these restaurants. Making me very hungry reading the menus. Thanks again!
