Hotels in Toledo, Barcelona and Madrid

Would love recommendations for hotels in these 3 cities. 2nights in Toledo, 5 in Barcelona and 4 in Madrid. I've searched, but so many reviews were from several years ago. Would like update if possible. Thanks so much in advance!

In Toledo, I believe I paid about 44euro for two people including breakfast. It was very close to the cathedral. Hotel Isabel https://www.hotelsantaisabeltoledo.es/ I think you may be able to find something in your price range in Madrid, I'm not so sure about Barcelona. In Madrid, I paid 75euro at the Hotel Europa on Puerta del Sol, but it was November. In Barcelona, I stayed at BCN Fashion House close to Plaza de Catalunya, and depending on when you are going they may be close to your price range

In Toledo we stayed at Hotel Sercotel Pintor El Greco. We recommend this hotel – very quiet, nice staff, numerous excellent breakfast choices. I paid for breakfast with the room, and the breakfast was outstanding.

For Madrid, we stayed in two hotels since we made a circular trip around Spain. This was our favorite: Pension Central Palace Madrid. The receptionist was very friendly. Breakfast next door at elegant Cafe de Oriente (free if you book through their site) was perfect to begin our days, and the hotel room was huge with a modern bathroom. This hotel was very memorable because of the view! Our balcony overlooked the Oriente Garden & the Royal Palace – so beautiful! We really enjoyed the location of this one.

We were there September/October 2017.

Not a hotel, but an apartment we really liked in Toledo. Casa de Los Mozarabes, apartment #1 ( one bedroom with bath, living/dining room, and small kitchen. The location is close to the main square where the bus from the train station drops you.

It is around €86 a night with a 2-night minimum.

In Madrid, we stayed at the Indigo, part of the IHG chain (Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, etc.) Located in central Madrid on Gran Via, not far from Plaza Mayor and Sol. It was very nice, very modern, good location and price.

+1 on Casa de los Mozarabes apartments in Toledo. We stayed in a 3-BR there last April. Loved the building, location, and apt management.

I have stayed at Hostal Acapulco (a small, family run hotel) in Madrid three times now and love it. I paid 79 euros for a triple bedded room in Sept. 2017 and 59 euros for a twin room for my visits in February, 2018. It is centrally located near two metro stops and is very clean.

In Barcelona, we stayed at a two bedroom, two bath apartment (EasySleep Eixample) and were generally pleased with it. I don't remember the price but it seemed to be on par with hotel rooms with three beds.

We really liked the Four Points by Sheraton in Barcelona. Near Sagrada Família and a short walk to the subway (Glories stop). Great shopping center across the street with lots of restaurants and a grocery store. We did not care for the Ramblas area at all and thought it was way too crowded and touristy—the Glories area is much more relaxed.

In Madrid we loved everything about the Hotel Europa, especially the location and wonderful service. I don't remember the room rates. We stayed there for Rick's tour of Spain. We booked a room for one night with them for our last night before flying home, They kept our excess baggage for us while we finished the tour, and had it waiting for us in our upgraded room the night we returned. That's service!

You all are wonderful! Thank you so much for the great info!
We ended up booking the Santa Isabel in Toledo, Catalonia Portal de l'Angel in Barceona, and a VRBO in Madrid. Can[t wait to visit them all.

I had a very nice stay in the Hotel Santa Isabel in 2015. My big tip is, be sure to take a taxi both ways from the train station! It's less than €10, and otherwise its a VERY long and confusing walk. Taxis line up at the station; for the ride back, the hotel will call one.

Agree with Harold! We usually walk from train stations. Not in Toledo! Here's another big tip. The views of the old town of Toledo are beautiful from across the river. Have your taxi take you to the viewpoints across the bridge and then deliver you to the inn. There is a tourist bus that takes you to the viewpoints but it was a lot more expensive than a taxi, especially for two people.

Madrid- Hotel Principal, great location right off of Gran Via. Walkable to the museums. Nice rooms, ours was very quiet in rear of hotel.
