Rick S. guide ( Portugal trip) told me the Green Walk Porto is a good, self guided trip. Anyone have any experience with Green Walk? Any great recommendations for hotels in Porto and Santiago, Spain? Thanks much. Peggy
We stayed here on our RS Portugal Tour in 2017. https://www.grandehotelporto.com/en/
It was a great hotel. That said, if we were to revisit we would stay in a different location. This hotel has been recommended by many on this forum- mystoryhotels.com/Catarina.
Not sure about the “green walk” as you have called it but my husband and I have done several Camino de Santiago walks. We did do the Camino Portuguese that started in Porto to Santiago. It was the coastal route. We loved it. It took us 12 days. We are in our late 60’s so instead of staying in Albergues we choose hotels and luggage transfers thru Camino Ways. The hotel they provided in Porto was called Moov. It was located in the perfect start of the walk. We are excited to leave in a couple of days to walk the Via Francigena starting in Lucca, Italy to Rome! Buen Camino
In Santiago the hotel was Hospederia San Martin Pindario.
Thanks for all the comments…
The Portuguese way is a wonderful camino. Not very hard around 20 km a day. You can have your luggage transferred with https://tuitrans.com/?lang=en or https://www.pilbeo.com.
We stayed in hotels or bed and breakfast, it was great, never had to worry about a place to stay and very confortable and cheap accomodations, PM me for the list of placed we stayed at.
In Santiago we stayed at Hotel Gelmirez, i would stay there again.
Thanks so very much for all the comments. They help.
Anyone know how, or the best way to get back from Santiago to Porto. We are on an AMA Waterways cruise following the Walk. Any details would be great. Thanks so much to you all. Peggy
Have fun. Want to follow this thread. Camino is in my list. Enjoy your cruise. I am doing my third ama in Dec

Rome2rio says it’s a bit over 4 hours by bus and 3 to 4 by bus and train.
