High Recommendation for Jerez de La Frontera hotel

Hi travel forum, I will be writing up a trip report of my Spain trip in a week, but I want to share this hotel in Jerez de La Frontera in case you’re in the planning stage. This hotel has to be the nicest one I have stayed at in Europe for its beauty, the staff & the amazing breakfast. My room looks out over their peaceful back garden. And I could enjoy sleeping with my balcony door open - no noise except the sound of a few birds & later some rain. Ahh! My huge marble tile bathroom has a clawfoot tub, shower, two sinks & lots of room. All of the decor & fixtures and even artwork in the room is top notch. The lobby sitting area was worthy of several photos, too.

I purposely wanted a “relax day” in the middle of this trip, and I can’t think of a better 1-night stop to achieve exactly what I was hoping. They even left a bottle of Jerez sherry & a few bites to enjoy.

Hotel Casa Palacio María Luisa.

We've started treating ourselves occasionally to a nicer hotel. Not often, but just as a special treat every now and then... Your comment about sleeping with the balcony door open really resonated; we, too, have done that - in Naples, in Venice... So relaxing and restorative!

Jean I could not agree more! I will be at CP MARIA LUISA next week and am really looking forward to my return.
For anyone headed to Sevilla, the MARIA LUISA has a sister hotel in that city, where I spent a week last year; it's exquisite: PALACIO DON RAMON.

What a lovely stay! Was the sherry good?

Pam, I wouldn’t ever buy a bottle of sherry - rarely have anything to drink at home, but it was nice to have a glass in the city where it’s made.

For our trip to Andalucia a few years ago, we took eskrunchy's advice and booked a few nights at Casa Palacio Maria Luisa for the start of our trip and it completely ruined us :~). It was a dream to stay in such a beautiful and comfortable hotel upon arrival from the U.S. and made us re-think our trip planning strategies going forward.

The hotel is also is a fantastic location -- easy to walk just about anywhere you'd want to visit, but still fairly quiet and peaceful.

Hi Jean,

Thanks for the glowing hotel recommendation!
I’ve started making a list of recommended
hotels for future reference.
Jean, did you book directly with the hotel or via booking.com?

Enjoy the rest of your time in beautiful Spain!
Looking forward to your trip report!

Ekscrunchy,
Thanks for the Sevilla hotel recommendation!

Hi Priscilla, I used Booking.com for this hotel. I did pick a non-refundable option on it.

I will post a trip report later. I’m currently at another great hotel - this one in Sevilla with a gorgeous courtyard. They bring in a classical guitarist each evening. I have my courtyard window open listening from my room instead of watching him tonight since I have the night illumination show beginning in an hour.

Oh man ! I can't wait to hear what this one is after you've departed there, Jean ! Enjoy your show tonight (and the show you're listening to right now!)

Jean, I've just checked in to PALACIO MARIA LUISA and I thought of you as soon as I was ushered into my room.
It's even more glorious than I had remembered!! I have room 2, and I've already alerted the front desk (manager Borgia is on vacation, but Felix and a few others are here and gave me big hugs) that I will probably not be vacating for a few months!!! (If only!!). I love how they send an e-mail asking you to choose which bath products you'd like in your room!!! I've had the Nuxe and the Codage on prior stays, so this time I've asked for the PORTUS CALE.....just a bit different from the usuals in my own home!!!

The e-mail that arrived before arrival:
....We offer you the possibility of choosing among these toilet amenities in order to personalize your accommodation.

  • Codage Paris, a French luxury brand with unique fragrances.
  • Nuxe, one of the best natural cosmetics brands.
  • Portus Cale, with fragrances that calm your mind and senses...

I'm just overwhelmed!!! Can I live here if I work in the kitchen?

Ekscrunchy, what a treat to hear you’re there now enjoying it. They sent me the email about those three choices, but since I didn’t know any of them, I didn’t reply back with a preference. I did bring home the small bar of soap, though, as a little momento. Enjoy your time there!

If you’re getting a job in the kitchen, maybe I can work as their lobby pianist. ; )

Now that sounds like a plan!!!!

I also took home a soap....!
Before my first visit, about 2023, I actually looked up the three choices for the bath products and that first time, I chose NUXE which is apparently very luxe..... This time I asked for a different one...the Portus Cale. I used my bar of soap from my travel bag, and took home the new one in its little box, from the hotel!! Such a sweet memory!!
