The usual recommendations from this wonderful forum are booked for October. ugh. We enjoy boutique hotels.. safe neighborhoods for walking to sites/dinner etc. We even tried VRBO, but the site would not accept a credit card. ugh. We plan on staying 4 to 5 days in each place so we would like a good location, well- appointed, clean & quiet place (less than $$$$ )... any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Have you looked at Hotel Granvia in Barcelona and Hotel Amadeus in Sevilla? Our stays there were terrific.
We stayed in Hotel Becquer in Sevilla, 2017. Very nice, centrally located.
Thank you! Amadeus (and its apartments are full). Hotel Becquer looks great! Still need suggestions for Barcelona... Mid-range..
Have you tried eurostars website? They are a Spanish hotel chain.
In 2017, we stayed at the Hotel Becquer in Seville, and the equally wonderful Hotel U232 in Barcelona. We walked everywhere, except to Park Guell. Huge room, great breakfast and bar.
We found a place to stay in Barcelona by using Maribel’s Guides online. We spent a week at Hispanos7 Suizos, an aparthotel near La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.. We had two bedrooms, 2Baths, a nice kitchen with d/w and a w/d. There was a concierge in the lobby to help make dining reservations and to answer questions. A wonderful stay, highly recommend it! It was reasonably priced.
I enjoyed my two stays in the H10 hotels in Barcelona. Join their club and you get free breakfast and additional discounts.
In 2019, we came in to Barcelona 5 days ahead of a My Way Spain tour (so great). Being on a budget we looked through the RS Spain guidebook for suggestions. One of the last on list proved wonderful for us. We booked a triple just to have the sofa bed as a sofa. Delightful people running it on second floor above nice retail shop and ideally Located on the Passeo de Gracia . Metro one block away. Nice and interesting area. Amenities are basic but location great for getting around. Sagrada Familia only 15 minutes away by metro. Here is the link: www.hostaloliva.com
I very much enjoyed my stay in Barcelona at this hotel back in 2019 and would happily stay there again:

Excellent breakfast, great location near the Palau de La Musica and a short walk from La Rambla and the Placa de Catalunya.
It’s in the El Born neighbourhood, which is a great area, lots of restaurants and a real Barcelona feel. I will just add that it’s a neighbourhood of narrow lanes, so if that puts you off then it’s not ideal. For me it was perfect. I’m a 50-something solo female traveller who’s city savvy but doesn’t stay out late, and the area felt very comfortable to me, although the hotel warned us to take care of belongings due to pickpocketing.
Our family just stayed at Hotel Lleo. Great breakfast…friendly staff. Super location!
In Barcelona, September 2019, we loved our stay at Hotel Praktik Rambla: great location; lovely, historic building; beautiful, comfortable room; kind, helpful staff; within walking distance to everything except Park Guell.
Hotel Becquer is booked! Thank you. Lots of other suggestions were already booked as well. Will report back after our return. Thanks very much for your time and recommendations!
Where did you end up staying? I believe our cruise package has us at Nobu for a couple nights, but we plan to extend our stay there so looking for other recommendations as well.
Sevilla, Hotel Becquer. Nice room, nice beds, good breakfast, great front desk.
BCN, Casa Bonay. Same but more hip!
