Food in Barcelona?! Recommendations please

I will be traveling to Barcelona in August, I have my hotel booked and my sightseeing all planned but I am looking for any recommendations for restaurants, tapas, pastry shops, cafes, etc. (anything from reasonably priced eats to nicer places).

If you have been there recently, please let me know of any recommendations for Barcelona eats that you may have!

Barcelona is a large city. You need to tell us where you're staying and the major sights you plan to see. Otherwise, we may be giving you useless suggestions.

Hotel address = La Rambla 128 (Hotel SERHS Rivoli Rambla)

Since we will be all over the large city over several days we are just looking for places that stood out to people, not ones necessarily near only our hotel.

Most of the time, we just popped into restaurants as we passed them...there wasn't a lot of planning involved and we were never disappointed in a meal.
However- a friend recommended aQistoi in Eixample and it was absolutely fantastic! We're still talking about it some time later. It's small, but everything was fresh and delicious.
It's just a short cab ride from Barri Gotic (to get you there), but then we walked home.

We have eaten at Cafe Academia several times and loved it. It may be in one of RS books. Located near Jaume metro (?) stop.

Best part of Barcelona was getting lost in the old town area and finding several tapas restaurants. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed cafes in big dept stores when we were there. They are reasonable awith a lg selection at a very reasonable price.
Certainly for lunches it was a great option for a well priced meal.
