Barcelona Tapas Bar

We were just in Barcelona, stayed in the Gothic Quarter. A family friend recommended Bodega Oliva for tapas. It was fantastic. Excellent quality, family owned, great wines. All are shared plates with a wide variety, even paella with mussels in a small shared offering. You just have to seek them out, they don't have a website where you can make a reservation. Open from 6 - 10 p.m. Well worth the effort to find them. Enjoy!

I cannot comment on that specific location but I can add a bit of advice.

We were in Nerja and asked our hotel front desk for a tapas recommendation. He started to point to the tourist area.

We the asked him were he would go. He pointed in the opposite direction into a residential area. We walked in and the conversation stopped as we were in a place that few tourists venture. Had a great time as the locals were impressed we were in their neighbourhood. The prices were cheap compared the tourist area and the food was great.

So, if you are a little adventurous try and venture out to a non tourist area. We found locals are ready to embrace strangers who are willingly to go into non tourist area.

I’ve been here wandering around and I agree to go into the neighborhoods off the main streets and the secondary streets. There are some really good places I don’t think you can go wrong..

At one point or another I did use google maps to see what was available time wise.

Hey there!
As per my experience, don't miss out on Bodega Oliva in the Gothic Quarter. https://www.tripadvisor.in/RestaurantReview-g187497-d24087768-Reviews-BodegaOliva-Barcelona_Catalonia.html alteryx A family friend suggested it to us, and it exceeded our expectations. This gem is a family-owned joint with fantastic tapas and an impressive selection of wines.

The quality of the dishes is top-notch, and what makes it even more special is the shared plate concept. From a variety of tapas to a small shared paella with mussels, the flavors are outstanding. Just a heads up, Bodega Oliva doesn't have a website for reservations, so you'll have to track them down in person. /

They're open from 6 to 10 p.m., and let me tell you, the effort to find them is well worth it. So, if you're up for an unforgettable culinary experience, make sure to seek out Bodega Oliva. Cheers to good food and memorable moments in Barcelona! Enjoy!
