Seeking recommendations for "Must try" places for tapas, dinner, seafood, desserts? Traveling with my college aged children and only have 3 days. Would prefer smaller, local places and not fine dining/expensive places.
When are you going? Some of the best food is seasonal, I have fond memories of calcots with romesco sauce in February but you won't be able to have them in, say July.

A must-try dessert item would be crema catalana, which is the better version of creme brulee;
a must-try seafood tapa would be muslitos de cangrejo, which are small crabcakes shaped like a mouse.
Flax and Kale was great!
We have eaten at Cafe Academia(not expensive) on three trips to Barcelona and loved it. There is a great tapas bar very near it and both are near the metro station Jaume. Not sure where we got the recommendation but we recommended it to neighbors and they loved it as well.
Empanadillas, pebrots de Padro, jamon, Patates braves, truita de patata, pan con tomate, creme catalon and go to Boqueria . I like Granja near Boqueria for chocolate and churros
We had a great meal here https://www.vianabcn.com/en/. It is small so reservations strongly advised. I emailed them (in English) and they promptly replied with my reservation.
