Barcelona Hotels

This October we are stopping over in Barcelona for 3 days after a RS Portugal tour. Any suggestions for something centrally located. We have been on several RS tours and are comfortable with his usual level of accomodations

Catalonia Portal de l'Angel Hotel. Centrally located at Portal de l'Angel 17 it is clean, reasonable and in the heart of town. NOTE: the street it is on is closed to traffic - foot traffic only - so you will have to tote your luggage a block (or more) to get to it but it is worth it.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Jazz when we were in Barcelona a few years back, and are planning on staying there again next May (2019). The location is excellent, just two blocks from Plaça Catalunya, with easy walking into the Eixemple (for restaurants) or down Las Ramblas (for "the scene"). They have a nice rooftop terrace, with a tiny pool but the views are nice.

The airport bus picks up at Plaça Catalunya and Universität, both very close by.

I was on the RS Spain Tour in 2016, and we stayed at the K & K Picasso, which was lovely, but appears to be a 4-star and quite expensive when booking privately, well over 200 euros per night, depending on the season. I will be returning to Barcelona this June on my own, and have selected the Hotel Constanza for my stay, which seems nice, well-located and more affordable. We'll see.

We also really liked Catalonia Portal de l'Angel. Great location and lovely room. Very pleasant outdoor seating area too.

I agree with the above poster who recommended Hotel Jazz. We enjoyed our stay there as it was easy to get to and walk everywhere. The rooftop bar had wonderful views and a nice place to relax after long days of sight seeing.

Another vote for Catalonia Portal de l'Angel Hotel. Quiet, clean, a great location just a couple of blocks from Plaça Catalunya (where the Aerobus or Metro from the airport will bring you), and had a good breakfast buffet.

Catalonia Portal de l'Angel is very nice, well located, a pool for cooling off, very nice breakfast. Our RS Spain tour started here. BTW, you will love the Portugal tour!

Another vote for Hotel Jazz! We stayed there 4 nights a few years ago following the RS Portugal Tour. Modern facility, hospitable staff and wonderful breakfast buffet. Perfect location. We walked to most of the major sites. Would not hesitate staying there again! Fond memories.
