Canceled reservation with them and they issued me a voucher for a future stay. When I said we would not be coming back to Europe for several years, they credited my credit card with the amount of my deposit.

Now is not a good time to travel in Spain. The hotels are not working 100%, you may find yourself with many inconveniences.
