Can anyone recommend some inexpensive, reliable hotels we could use as a base for 5 nights in/near Haro, Spain?
What time of year and will you have a car?
Is the purpose of your stay to visit bodegas?
Sept/Oct time frame. Might try to hit the Fiestas de San Mateo. Want to find a place to be a base for 5 nights to explore the area, wine tours, hiking, etc.
Yes we will have a car.
Hi Carrie,
you might get more replies if you post this in the Spain forum. This is for review of hotels people have stayed in.
When you post, mention when, that you have a car, how many you are, and if you have any ideas for things you want to visit. That way you will get better response.
I have sent you a PM with some ideas.
In October, we will be staying a few nights at Agroturismo Valdelana. It is a working winery and a stay includes a tour. The rate is quite inexpensive.
EDITED TO ADD: Not far from Haro is Logrono. Since Valdelana is completely booked for one of the nights we will be in the area, we will be spending one night at Pensión La Bilbaina. It is really inexpensive, in the center of the older part of town, and I'm told parking is free and within 3/4 mile, maybe 1/2 mile. Although it is a budget property, the reviews are quite good. I found them on Booking.com
