A Rick Steve's hotel referral

Hi All,
I am new to the forum but not to Rick Steves. I always consult his travel books when going abroad. I have the latest copy of his 2024 Scotland and last month did an online reservation at the Boutique50 hotel he suggested in Glasgow. I have a printed confirmation number but have not received an email confirmation. I have reached out to them by email and by their web site "contact us" but have not heard anything. I am a little concerned about whether my reservation is legit because of course "the internet". Any suggestions how to confirm. I could cancel and book somewhere else but don't know if they would get that.
Thanks,
Sue

I think you'll get more help with this issue if you post it in the Scotland forum.

Have you checked your email spam folder? They might have responded but it ended up there. That has happened to me a few times with confirmation emails coming from Europe.

Definitely call the hotel! Buy a $10 international calling card from your local pharmacy store ( I buy mine from Walgreens) and use that as it comes in handy for this sort of thing.

You shouldn't need an international calling card. I've called the UK on my cell phone (make sure you use the calling code (+44) and call during their business hours) and it should only cost a few dollars..

ETA: You also might try sending them a message through their Facebook page. I've had good luck in the past contacting businesses in the UK this way. https://www.facebook.com/boutique50glasgow

Did you use the exact email address that was listed in the Rick Steves book (instead of googling the name of the hotel)?

Did you check your junk mail?
