What is the best way to get from Belluno, Italy to Llubljana, Slovenia? We are leaving Belluno on 14 Sept 2023. We need to be in Llubljana late afternoon on the 15th. Bus or train? Schedules do not seem to be available yet. We can stop overnight if we need to. Any idea on costs would be helpful. Also how far in advance are schedules set? How far in advance can bookings be made or need to be made? Thanks in advance, Scott

From Belluno to either airport you can take the ATVO buses or also the train (Trenitalia) then a bus to the airport.
I don't know how soon the timetable come out for September and how early you need to book.

The trenitalia website suggests leaving Belluno at 2:20 pm to arrive into Ljubljana (note spelling) at 10:00 pm; that schedule has two train connections. Alternately you could take the train to Trieste; trains leave every hour from Belluno to Trieste, for a 3 hour (more or less) trip. In Trieste there are several buses daily that only take 1.5 hours to Lj. Look at the flixbus website for schedules. You'll need to get from the Trieste train station to the Flixbus station, but a bit of web sleuthing could probably tell you easily how to do that. The train/bus combo might be a shorter trip. All of this is from the current trenitalia website, so there could be changes in the September schedule, but it looks very doable as a one-day trip.
