Vintgar Gorge Return Hike

In order to help me decide our return route in August, can anyone comment/review about your experience/sights/condition of The River of Trees Trail or the King Triglav Trail. (Note: I've read the length/weather descriptions on the website.) We plan to arrive at the Visitor Center at 8:30 for our 9 am reservation. Will we be likely to get parking there or should we head to a parking lot and shuttle? Thank you very much!

FYI...we parked in P1 for $5 and took the shuttle to and from. It was great. At 8:30 am there were still spaces by the entrance for $10. We went in at 9 am and not one minute before. The scanners are definitely savvy for when you're allowed entry. Don't be late as you won't get in. Plan to park in P1 a good 30 minutes in advance of your entry time (15 minutes grace is given.) We took the King Triglav hike after the Vintgar Gorge walk. It was a long, uphill hike through the nice shady forest until we got to the top where we had a snack at the Cafe by the church. Then we tackled the dusty, hot trail through the pasture lands, which are down the hill from the trail. Unfortunately, no tinkling cowbell or cows, so that was a disappointment. It's all worth it!

Thanks for coming back to share your experience! I did the gorge and the return hike you did before it was one of the mandatory options (most people just walked backed through the gorge back then). I really enjoyed that trek — especially seeing the surrounding villages from above and Bled Castle from a distance. It was very cool!

There are shuttle services to the gorge and back from the end. We did that. Then no parking problems. Also it included entry ticket. The walk through the forest at then end is quite nice.
I just googled for such services and they are as low as 7€ to the entrance.
Hope for rain or go off-season. We had both and there were few people. If a lot of people it will be like many other attractions in Europe. Too crowded. Best you can do and should do anyway is go for the opening time.
