Travel from Lake Bled to Venice

We will be completing a tour in Lake Bled in October. Would like recommendations for transportation to Venice island from Lake Bled .

You'd have to go by Flixbus through Trieste. Takes about 4 1/2 hours, and it's 150 miles.

We were a group of 5 when we took the tour in 2018. We took a cab arranged by our tour leader to Ljubljana, where we spent the morning, and then traveled by GoOpti Shuttle (a private car and driver) to Venice. It was fast and affordable because of the size of our group

GoOpti worked fine for me to get from Ljubljana to Venice Marco Polo airport last October. It was a 3 hour van ride, which was OK. Keep in mind that GoOpti is affordable if you can be flexible with times. If you want to pick an exact time, you pay more. Otherwise, you pick a range of times when you book. Say you want to get into Venice by noon. You might say you'll take any van that leaves between 7-9am. You find out the exact pick-up time the day before. It can work fine in many cases.

In your case, though, I'd be tempted to catch the direct train from Villach, Austria. (I love trains...and there is something special about arriving by train in Venice for me.) It's a shame the train connections from Bled are not better; it's about an hour from Lesce-Bled to Villach. You could take the 8:13 into Villach from Lesce-Bled (which is not right at the town of Bled - a local bus or taxi ride away, not far) and have a 1:42 layover at Villach and catch the 10:50 from Villach to Venice.

I'd also suggest the train via Villach. It's a pity the schedules don't line up better, but 1:42 means you have enough time to discover Villach and not just sit at the station.
