Hello Friends, thank you again for all the great advice and answering my questions. It’s appreciated! Trying to determine the best way to get from Ljubljana to Venice in late May. I was thinking of FlixBus from Ljubljana to Trieste and then a train from Trieste to Venice. I’ve been reading lots of negative reviews about FlixBus so I’m nervous to book that. Again, thank you for sharing your thoughts! 😊

Try GoOpti (https://www.goopti.com/en/). They picked us up from our hotel in Ljubljana and delivered us to Venice San Marco on time. Very smooth ride. We had a shared van with one other group. We'd recommend without hesitation.

I’ve used Flixbus a number of times with only positive experiences. I would have zero reservations just going Flixbus direct, no need to change transportation if you don’t have to. However, as others noted this GoOpti route is a popular option and has long been recommended by the RS book.

I agree with awrzesinski. In 2023 we did the same route only from Venice to Ljubljana. We always look for a Flixbus option.

Keep in mind that a lot of reviews get posted by people who have a negative experience
(in their eyes anyways) and have the need to vent. So the sample population can be somewhat
skewed.
I'm not against the private/shared shuttle option, but buses in Europe generally are pretty decent
means of getting from one place to another. And I, like the others who have ridden Flixbus and
commented, have not had a bad experience.
