Transport from Lake Bled to Ljubljana

We are planning a few days in Bled prior to our Best of the Adriatic tour. Do you have any recommendations for the best way to get from Bled back to Ljubljana?

Hi Diane. There are many buses a day from Bled to Ljubljana. Board at two different places in Bled; takes about an hour; buy your ticket when you board; they go to Ljubljana train station which is walkable to town. Have a great trip!.

I have no idea whether this is still happening, but back in the summer of 2015, a van taxi usually showed up at the Bled bus station a few minutes before the bus headed to Ljubljana was due in.

The driver was selling seats at 7 euros a head--quite a reasonable price even in 2015, though the bus was naturally cheaper. There's nothing wrong with the bus, but the taxi saved some time. I didn't notice rhe same thing going on at the Ljublhana bus station.

If you're potentially interested in a shared taxi to Ljubljana, don't be in too big a rush to buy a bus ticket.

I assume you will be staying at the Hotel Mrak. If so, once at the Ljubljana bus station (in front of the train station) wait at the bus stop at the corner of the station and take bus 2. The bus numbers that are served are along the edge of the roof. You can tap when you get on the bus. If paying for more than yourself let the driver know that before you tap. He will adjust the machine for the number of passengers you are paying for. This will take you to the Krizane bus stop which should be the 5th stop. To get to the hotel, walk diagonally to the street opposite the bus stop, Emonska Cesta, and follow that in one block. At the square go to the left and Hotel Mrak will be a few doors up on the right.
