My husband and I will be traveling from Ljubljana to Budapest the last week in September. The flight schedules that I have researched are not ideal on potential travel days. For a variety of reasons, taking a bus is NOT an option for us. We are giving serious consideration to the train, and I do realize that it is 7+ hours. I'm looking for recommendations for a car transfer service that you have used and were pleased with their service. Or if anyone has other suggestions, they would be appreciated. Thanks so much!
GoOpti: https://www.goopti.com/en but it costs 812 euros for two people.
We did the reverse of your trip (Budapest to Ljubljana) in 2019 with MyDayTrip.com and couldn't have been more pleased. Worth every penny.
Ive been using this guy for about 10 years now. Like him and trust him

Do a little research and stop in Nagykanizsa for lunch.
Great suggestions, thanks everyone!
Are you deciding on flying or going by train? That's the basic choice.
If I were doing this route, I would go by train, mainly because I don't fly in Europe....not an option. As such, I would transfer in Vienna central station. (Wien Hbf), then on to Budapest.
With the summer schedule most likely a direct connection to Budapest from Ljubljana is available, thus avoiding the transfer in Vienna.
