Headed to Dubrovnik. Would like to take train to Zagreb then on to Split. Hopefully ferry to Dubrovnik. Can train to Maribor and then to Zagreb all in daylight. Also can travel later in the day...leave Vienna at 4:00 Hoping this is a scenic trip. All help greatly appreciated.

On my map that highlights such things, it is considered a pretty scenic rail route. When will you travel? You can check sunset timing at https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/croatia/zagreb.
