Any tips on taking a taxi within Bled?
March 2026 visit.
We are taking the Arriva bus from the Ljubljana airport to Bled Union station. We are not renting a car.
We are staying at Hotel Triglav Bled which is about 3km, 1.8 miles from the center of town.
Will there be taxis waiting at the Bled Union station to take us to the hotel? If not, how do we contact a taxi without a local phone?
We are in shape to walk the distance, but I would prefer not to with luggage or if the weather is not good.
It looks like Bled Union Station does not have a "taxi stand." Your hotel may be able to pre-arrange a taxi for you. There are also a few taxi services in Bled that can be called -- maybe worth having a plan for phone service in Slovenia? Most US phone plans will allow you to make out-of-country calls for something like 50 cents to $1 per minute.
I was in Ljubljana last September and there were not a lot of taxis at the Ljubljana bus/train station downtown either. You can use the Uber App in Ljubljana for rides. There also is an App for “Taxi Metro” which will give you greater flexibility.
