Hello,
My husband and I are hoping to travel by bus or train on Monday, May 6th to the Postojna caves and the Predjama Castle on your way to Trieste.
Our biggest issue is where to leave our suitcases (2 care-on badges)? Any ideas?
Also transition between Postojna caves and Predjama Castle?

The train station is a fair bit away from the town and is a bit deserted (at least it looked that way when I transited thru not very long ago). I would check closely before deciding to go there.
There are buses from Ljubljana direct to the caves. From there you can shuttle on another bus to the castle.
I left my backpack behind the counter at the info desk at the caves, caveat was that I had to pick it up before closing time (4pm), which is before the last tour ends. Maybe they will do the same for luggage.
There are also buses to the town and I suspect there are left luggage facilities there, but it adds another layer of transit.

We don’t feel comfortable, leaving our suitcases with the reception desk. I was really hoping we could lock them someplace.
I think we’ll just make our way to Trieste and then come back to the Cave and Castle on a separate trip.

Forgot this before, but there is a full-service hotel at the cave (Hotel Jama).
If the hotel can (perhaps for a fee) store the bags in their closet while you
are at the park, it will be easy to get them after you finish your tour. But
I wouldn't assume you can.
