Slovenia Virtual Tours

I ran across the Private Guide Slovenia website today. It's a company owned in part by the couple that appears in the RS Slovenia episode. The owners have a couple of virtual tour options for those interested in Slovenia:

  1. Ten Minute virtual tours of various areas of Slovenia (don't forget to hit the Tip Jar link if you enjoy them!)
  2. A 15-day Virtual Pilgrimage through Slovenia the began today (Saturday) and will feature 3 live Saturday events (first was today and was reportedly recorded for later viewing for late arrivals like me), along with supplemental videos on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the tour. The cost is 62 euro.

Thanks for these, Dave. I've just watched their "teaser Pilgrimage through Slovenia" and their episode that includes Lake Bohinj, which I did not visit during my Slovenia trip. The scenery is like a winter fairy tale. I look forward to watching more.

They are working on videos 7 and 8 for the PG Slovenia and Youtube pages. I believe they mentioned these would not be posted until after the pilgrimage as that is taking up a lot of their time now. We have been joining them for a few months since they started the "Happy Hour" meetings from their home. The productions have been quite interesting and we have learned a lot. The quality of their productions ramped up quickly and they've put out very nice videos.

The virtual pilgrimage is phenomenal. So far, there has been a supplemental video every day. The content is excellent. RS shows are very good, but even with his enthusiasm, RS can never match the joy of a country's natives proudly showing off what is great about their country. This is why I love hiring native private guides. At least for me, no travel guide is capable of providing the richness of experience obtained by spending some time with a native guide.
