Slovenia itinerary feedback

My daughter (18) and I will be in Slovenia for 8 nights in July. I would love feedback on the itinerary below, what key sites we should add, and especially what to do on the open/unplanned day. Neither of us have a strong interest in the beekeeping museum and/or caves, which are the other 2 things that I've seen in the guidebook. We love history and food and easy (<4 mile) hiking. Thank you!

July 6 - arrive from Bosnia, pickup rental card; sleep Bled
July 7 - Vintgar Gorge and Lake Bled; sleep Bled
July 8 - Lake Bohinj (cable car, waterfall hike?); sleep Bled
July 9 - RS Julian Alps drive; sleep Kobarid
July 10 - WWI museum, what else?; sleep Kobarid
July 11 - open day, need to end the day with rental car drop-off and arrival in Ljubljana; suggestions? ; sleep Ljubljana
July 12 - RS walking tour, laundry, Open Kitchen; sleep Ljubljana
July 13 - open free/day in Ljubljana, suggestions? sleep Ljubljana
July 14 - depart for Budapest

I don't think you need to add anything to your July 9th plan; there are a lot
of potential stops on the drive thru the Julian Alps and the Kobarid Museum
is worth an hour or two as well. The Italian soldiers shrine in Kobarid is
worth a quick stop.

Predjama Castle is semi-colocated with Postojna Cave; while you say you're
not that interested in caves, the two combined are probably much of a day
and could be either your activity on July 11 on the way back from Kobarid,
or part of the July 13th activity (you can take a bus from Ljub to Postojna).

In Ljubljana, other than wandering around and enjoying the cafes, if you are
into beer, the Union brewery tour is nice.

Travelbug Tolmin Gorge looks terrific, thank you for the tip! This is exactly our kind of thing.

shoeflyer thank you for these as well, I think your recommendation to combine caves and castle makes good sense! We aren't into beer but are really looking forward to just wandering around Ljubljana.

I wouldn't change a thing. There's a pizza restaurant "Fedrig" in Kobarid that had cozy rooms above it. Shared bath but modern and updated.
